The Courage to Care and the Power of OSINT

Griffin Glynn & Micah Hoffman

At the heart of the National Child Protection Task Force (NCPTF) lies the incredible courage, leadership, and compassion of Chief Investigative Officer Griffin Glynn and Deputy Chief of Investigations Micah Hoffman. These two remarkable individuals not only propel our mission forward but through their work, also restore hope and safety into the lives of children and families.

Their hard work, just this year alone, is a testament to the transformative power of innovation and action. Presenting at international forums, engaging in fascinating dialogues, and providing rapid response assistance in urgent child-focused investigations, they carry the ethos of #JustOneMore throughout the world.

Investigative Experts Protecting Our Nation's Children

Griffin Glynn and Micah Hoffman head up the National Child Protection Task Force's (NCPTF) Rapid Response efforts, effectively serving as a 911-for-police on missing children cases. They swiftly mobilize resources and expertise to support law enforcement working complex, time-sensitive cases involving missing children, child exploitation, and human trafficking, while maintaining the integrity of the law and protecting civil rights and liberties. Through their guidance, the NCPTF works closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure a synchronized and effective response when children go missing. The investigative team's work has been pivotal in returning runaways and missing children to their families, and helping law enforcement restore peace and justice in communities across the nation.

Their work also plays a critical role in preventing incidents of child exploitation and trafficking. By implementing cutting-edge investigative techniques and providing real-time training and support to law enforcement personnel on each investigation, they enhance every community's capacity to find missing kids faster and combat heinous crimes against children with more efficacy.

Global Influence and Advanced Knowledge Sharing

Griffin Glynn and Micah Hoffman are deeply committed to sharing their specialized knowledge in open-source intelligence. Their contributions empower investigations and aid in the fight against child exploitation.

The duo's appearance on David Bombal's YouTube platform was a great conversation about making complex OSINT information accessible and actionable.

Micah's recent presentations, including InCyber Forum Europe in Lille, France, and as the keynote at Authentic8's 2024 OSINTUp event, have positioned him as an industry leader in digital investigation techniques.

Later this year both will visit Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, and even Copenhagen, Denmark– each engagement serving not only as a unique educational opportunity, but also communicating our mission of leveraging technology to create better outcomes for vulnerable people.

My OSINT Training

Micah and Griffin's commitment to sharing knowledge transcends global stages and digital platforms; it’s woven into the fabric of their mission through their jointly-owned venture, My OSINT Training.

In addition to teaching advanced techniques for digital investigations, cybersecurity, and data analysis, they mentor and train NCPTF volunteers. This initiative illustrates a profound commitment to our collective mission of child protection and ensures that the organization's backbone is as informed and skilled as possible as they lead impactful digital investigations.

From Knowledge Sharing to Immediate Action

The duo's readiness to assist in real-time was exemplified at the 6th Annual National Child Protection Task Force conference in Jacksonville, FL. Their immediate leap into action to help with a missing child case following their presentation is yet another demonstration of their commitment to choosing courage over comfort, and readiness above all else.

This was no surprise to the team, as they'd done the same a year prior at the 5th Annual NCPTF Conference. As a result of their work last year, multiple victims were located and multiple predators were identified.

Leading with Heart

What makes Griffin and Micah's leadership so impactful is their balance of vulnerability and courage. Their efforts to empower investigators through their work with the NCPTF and My OSINT Training narrates a compelling story of what a profound impact individuals can make in the collective effort to ensure that every child has someone in their corner when they need it the most. Their actions remind us that courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to act in the face of it.

Let's take a moment to celebrate these extraordinary souls, whose work is a powerful reminder that for every child who vanishes, there are protectors ready to seek, to find, and to restore justice.
