Ashley Waters Gundersen is an Advisory Board Member for the National Child Protection Task Force.
Ashley Waters Gundersen is an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, where she co-teaches a seminar on law enforcement policy and civil liberties. She maintains a pro bono practice focused on asylum matters and currently serves as a board member for the National Child Protection Task Force, the Miller Center at University of Virginia, Piedmont Virginia Community College, the United Way of Charlottesville, and St. Anne’s-Belfield School.
Previously, Ashley served as Special Counsel for the NYPD Intelligence Bureau from 2013 to 2018, and she served as Counsel to the Police Commissioner of the NYPD until 2020. Earlier in her career, Ashley was counsel at a New York City law firm where she focused on white collar matters and internal investigations, commercial litigation and arbitration. The firm also recognized Ashley for her extensive pro bono practice.
Ashley graduated from Harvard College and earned her JD at Harvard Law School.
